Narmbool is a 2,000 hectare property owned and operated by The Sovereign Hill Museums Association. It is an example of sustainable farming in a diverse and fragile ecosystem and is offered to schools as a camp venue. Narmbool was donated to Sovereign Hill in 2000 by Robin and Andrew Ferry for the express purpose of developing the property as an educational resource.

Many of the students visiting the site are curious about the unique environment they are in. This app will enable them to identify some of the species they encounter. The species contained in this app are only a fraction of those found on the property, over time we hope to be able to add more to the list.

The app was developed in collaboration with students from Federation University, Wentao Zhang and Valeriya Ivanova and Narmbool Education officers. Content has been sourced from a number of places and we are grateful to all those who allowed us to use their images and information, in particular, Museum Victoria and Ecolinc Science and Technology Innovations Centre.
